The "New Band To Burn One To" today is Longbottom Leaf.
Longbottom Leaf are a quartet of happy go-lucky individuals from Luton, Barton le Clay, Dunstable and Brogborough in the UK with a penchant for heavy metal grooves, beer and living life the hobbit way. Formed in late 2008 and named after the Shires most famous export, they now want to unleash their musical talents and ‘noise manglers’ onto the local Shire population and surrounding areas. Watch out, Longbottom Leaf are in town...
Citing influences such as Black Sabbath, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Kyuss, Monster Magnet and Torche the band has just uploaded their EP "Tales From the Bunker" to their MySpace page for your listening enjoyment.
Tony Islip - guitar and vocal
Simon Goriup - drums and vocal
Leon Shelley - bass and vocal
Stefan Hoyle - guitar and vocal
The band definitely has some 90's grunge influences as evidenced on their song "Good Bad Trip" sounding like a song that Pearl Jam could have recorded back in their heyday. But for the most part the band combines heavy grooves with melody and is just having a great time while doing it. Check them out!
