Long-running Finnish doomsters SPIRITUS MORTIS have announced the addition of singer Sami Hynninen (a.k.a. Albert Witchfinder; REVEREND BIZARRE, THE PURITAN) to the group's ranks.
SPIRITUS MORTIS is hard at work on its third album, tentatively due before the summer via Firebox Records. A seven-inch single will precede the full-length CD, also via Firebox.
A new song, "The Rotting Trophy", is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page.

SPIRITUS MORTIS is the oldest doom metal band from Finland. The band was formed in 1987 as RIGOR MORTIS, featuring founding members Teemu Maijala (bass, vocals), Jussi Maijala (guitars) and VP Rapo (drums).
The group's self-titled debut album was released in 2004 through Rage Of Achilles. A follow-up effort, "Fallen", came out in 2006 via Black Lotus Records.
