Crustacean Records is overjoyed to announce the addition of the Giraffes to their stable of exceptional musical artists. The Giraffes is a four-piece band formed in Brooklyn, New York in 1998 who traffic in a particularly potent and hedonistic blend of rock and roll music encompassing metal, punk, surf guitar rock, and much more.
Crustacean management had been admirers of the Giraffes for years primarily via exposure to their powerful live show, which has made repeated tour stops in Madison, Wisconsin over the years. Prolific as they are destructive, these boys from Brooklyn have already released four full-length albums and an EP as well as having toured with the likes of Eagles of Death Metal, Local H, The Means, The Vacation, Skeleton Key, and have been repeatedly been invited back for Austin`s SXSW music festival
The fifth album by the Giraffes and their debut on Crustacean Records is entitled Prime Motivator and was recorded by the Giraffes in 2007 and will be released late this Fall. Prime Motivator is the most engaging release to date by these Brooklyn mayhem enthusiasts with thirteen tracks of relentless yet stylistically diverse hard driving rock.
Before the album release, the Giraffes are embarking on an ambitious nine-date tour to Colorado and back home to New York City. The highlight is the Giraffes appearance at the Monolith Festival at 8 pm on Sunday, September 14, alongside such huge acts as TV On the Radio, The Kills, The Avett Brothers, Superdrag, Atmosphere, Devotchka, Vampire Weekend, and Del the Funky Homosapien, and many others at one of the world’s most picturesque venues, Red Rocks Amphitheater outside of Denver.
