Dragontears will play their official debut gig at Roadburn 2009. The band released their second album, Tambourine Freak Machine, in November and will now enter the stage at The Green Room at Roadburn on Friday, April 24. Dragontears was always meant to be a studio project but the band couldn’t resist to play at the most happening festival for psych, doom and stoner rock in Europe. This years festival looks great by the way and includes Saint Vitus, Motorpsycho, Amon Düül II, Colour Haze, Cathedral, Atomic Bitchwax, and many, many more. For more information, visit Roadburn.com.
The Dragontears cover of Bob Dylan`s “Master of War” has just been added to the Bad Afro MySpace page.

More Roadburn Acts Announced
Neurosis and Roadburn are proud to announce OM, Six Organs of Admittance, Skullflower, and A Storm of Light for Beyond the Pale at Roadburn 2009.
"Om is the heaviest band to ever walk the face of the earth"
- Scott Kelly, Neurosis
OM, Six Organs of Admittance, Skullflower, and A Storm of Light, along with Neurosis, have been confirmed for the inaugural European version of Neurosis` acclaimed Beyond the Pale festival, set to be held at Roadburn 2009 on Saturday, April 25, the 013 venue, Tilburg, Holland.
"Om is such a rare bird in the vast landscape that is sound, music, art, and emotive expression that they absolutely defy description," says Scott Kelly, "The straightest line is the quickest path to the godhead, Om know this, it is the foundation of their mountain. The meditative nature of the patterns and rhythms found within the speaker flexing sonic blanket that they weave is unparalleled. Om is the heaviest band to ever walk the face of the earth."
"Josh Graham is a prolific individual, a man driven to create. In the years that we have spent together collaborating in Neurosis, he has shown himself to be a visionary artist as well as a diligent worker. A Storm of Light is born of this obsession; it is an ominous sound, a cloud of oppressive doomage. Equal parts heavy and hypnotic, A Storm of Light is a band grown from truth."
Steve Von Till comments: "All must bow before the pagan wall of drone - I couldn`t agree more with the opening quote of Skullflower`s semi-official website. Hearing the tortured distorted and eerily shamanic drones emanate from the stereo for the first time in the early nineties was truly a revelation. IIIrd Gatekeeper and Obsidian Shaking Codex are two of my all time favorite albums and have been extremely influential on the way my brothers and I approach guitar-based heavy music: to grab an electric guitar, drive a loud amplifier to its physical limit, and ride the drone into oblivion is ecstasy, and Matthew Bower has been showing us all how it is done for 20-odd years. Finally after all these years we will all get to witness the power together at Beyond the Pale 2009."
"The words "psych folk,` although being a genre of music I feel a passion and affinity for, have begun to lose their meaning and significance over the last several years. A so-called `revival` has dredged up wave upon wave of shallow rehash. Ben Chasny and his Six Organs of Admittance, often tagged by that limiting genre, is a bright flower of inspiration to bring us all hope and remind us that as movements devolve, free spirits can rise above and remain vital among the pale imitators. Fearless and able to avoid the pitfalls and traps of classification he has constantly managed to play cathartic soul music. Not "soul" music, but music that accompanies transformation and the journey of one`s spirit. We are pleased to have this tonal psychonaut join us for this special event."
Also scheduled to appear at Beyond the Pale/Roadurn 2009 are The Young Gods, Akimbo, Guapo, and U.S. Christmas, with more bands to be announced.
Roadburn 2009 will run for three days from Thursday, April 23 to Saturday, April 25 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, Holland. There will be an additional Afterburner event on Sunday, April 26, 2009. Pre sales for Beyond the Pale/Roadburn 2009 will start, Saturday, December 13. More info about Roadburn, including confirmed bands for Beyond the Pale and the full festival will follow soon.

EARTHLESS LIVE AT ROADBURN CD ON SALE
Featured at the Roadburn Festival held annually in Tilburg, Holland, the heavy psychedelic trio Earthless includes Mario Rubalcaba (ex-Rocket From the Crypt, Hot Snakes, Blackheart Procession, Clickatat Ikatowi) on drums, Isaiah Mitchell (Nebula, Drunk Horse) on guitar and Mike Eginton (Electric Nazarene) on bass. The festival is a celebration of tube-driven distortion, crackling electrical guitars and the many fans that come to celebrate the mighty riff. Earthless embodies the true essence of Roadburn so it came as no surprise that the band was invited to play in the 2008 edition.
Unexpectedly, Earthless wound up on the main stage of the festival in front of 2,000 rabid fans, mere moments before they were to headline The Batcave (a room with 200 person capacity). Live At Roadburn came about not so much by default but out of sheer necessity. When the headlining band at the festival did not use their two hour time slot on the main stage, concert organizers were left scrambling to find a replacement to fill the slot.
Earthless gladly accepted the opportunity and proceeded to lay waste to all that was surrounding them for a straight hour and a half of visual mind and audio massacre! Told of the recordings, the band had a few listens and decided that it was the most honest document that they could offer, for they were caught in their natural environment - the live show.
Tee Pee Records is proud to present Earthless' latest assault on the senses, Live At Roadburn, a double LP/CD masterpiece recorded live at this year's Roadburn Festival.
The CD version is now available for sale. LP news soon.

TROUBLE: ROADBURN Performance Available For Streaming
Professionally recorded audio of TROUBLE's entire concert at this year's Roadburn festival, which took place April 17-20 at 013 in Tilburg, Holland, is available for streaming at this location (Windows Media).
Kory Clarke of WARRIOR SOUL joined TROUBLE earlier this month as the group's new frontman.
TROUBLE founder and guitarist Rick Wartell explained: "It was a mutual agreement [between now-former TROUBLE singer Eric Wagner and the rest of the band to go our separate ways]. You need to follow your heart in this business and if you are not into it 100% then it is time to move on. We all felt it was the best thing for all parties involved. There are no hard feelings. I'm sure Eric will continue making music and we wish him the best."
Wartell went on to say: "We are very excited to have Kory step in and take over the vocals for TROUBLE. He's been one of my favorite frontmen in this industry for many years. He will add a new dimension that we can use. It's not like we just picked out some guy to fill in, this is one of rock's most dynamic and creative frontmen in the industry. I know that when TROUBLE fans get a taste of what Kory does they will not be disappointed at all. Anyone who has seen Kory with WARRIOR SOUL already knows what to expect, and it's awesome."
To catch an early glimpse of the new TROUBLE lineup, sign up for the TROUBLE live webcast, to be held on July 11, 2008 at www.deeprockdrive.com and see for yourself from the privacy of your own computer.

ELECTRIC WIZARD Pulls Out Of Holland's ROADBURN Festival
British doom veterans ELECTRIC WIZARD have been forced to cancel their previously announced appearance at the Roadburn festival — which will take place April 17-20 at 013 in Tilburg, the Netherlands — due to a "family" matter. They have since been replaced by WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, who will perform a one-off show at Roadburn 2008.
Commented ELECTRIC WIZARD's Justin Oborn: "We regret to announce that ELECTRIC WIZARD will not be able to perform at Roadburn festival this year. Unfortunately due to an unforeseen and unavoidable situation, of a personal nature — which we had no idea would arise when we agreed to play last August — it has now become impossible for us to be at Roadburn. This cancellation is not something that we want to do and we wish to apologise to all our fans and all at Roadburn, especially Walter, and we hope that this awesome festival will be the huge success it deserves to be. We will be rescheduling our performance for September 12th, 2008 again at the 013 venue."
ELECTRIC WIZARD's sixth full-length studio album, "Witchcult Today", was released in November via Rise Above Records. Recorded and produced by Liam Watson (WHITE STRIPES, DATSUNS) at London's legendary Toerag studios, initial CD copies came in foil gatefold LP replica, with a double vinyl version foil sleeve also available.
