New Band To Burn One To - Mirror Queen

As also seen on The Soda Shop

Today's New Band To Burn One To is Mirror Queen
Out of the ashes of long-running New York City group Aytobach Kreisor emerges Kreisor. Influenced by such 70’s legends as Hawkwind, Deep Purple, UFO, Blue Oyster Cult, Captain Beyond, the rockier sides of more recent outfits such as Motorpsycho and Swervedriver, as well as the best of the current heavy bands , they aspire towards psychedelic hard rock of the highest order.
Together they transcend the sameness of much of today's stoner scene, blasting the audience by including songs with the volume and adding hooks to the timeless riffs.

One of NYC's few stoner-rock bands (or at least until fairly recently), the band spent the last few years finishing the last album as well as : touring Europe as guests of Norwegian biker/psych band WE; a follow-up tour as guests of Atomic Bitchwax; appearing with up and coming acts such as Priestess, Witch and Wolfmother; joining the merriment of The Modern Drunkard Convention in Vegas; supporting UFO and Uli Jon Roth on recent European tours; playing all over the New York City area.

Original members Kenny Kreisor (flying V, vocals) and Jeremy O'Brien (drums) have been joined by Badass Ben Felton on bass and Steve Austin (ex-Pink Swords of Gearhead Records) on second guitar. This lineup is wrapping up songwriting sessions and preparing to record our fourth album.

The previous collection, “Beyond Our Controls”, was self-recorded and mixed at former keyboardist/vocalist Johnny Young's home studio in Brooklyn, and bestowed with first-rate mastering at Boston's Peerless Studios. This was available only while touring Europe and through Tee Pee Records directly; we plan on re-issuing this with a bonus track.
These guys re working on a new album due out this year through Tee Pee Records. Fans of the above influences will enjoy these guys, especially the Deep Purple fans. They have quite a few to listen to their Myspace page. Most of the songs on there are older ones recorded under their former name but still the same sound you'll be getting with Mirror Queen.
