The Heavy Eyes are a heavy groove psych band from the Memphis, TN and North Mississippi areas of the US. The band's sound can be described as being heavily influenced by hard rock bands from the seventies as well as having deep countrified blues complete with scorching riffs and foot stomping heavy grooves. As the band puts it, "The Heavy Eyes is psychedelic bluesy rock from the delta that sounds similar to a skeleton driving a speed boat on a flaming Mississippi River headed back to 1969. Indeed.
The band has made their music available for free download on their Bandcamp page. Get it while its hot!
I can't get the tune "Voytek" out of my head. I look forward to hearing a full proper release from these guys.
