"White Horse" is taken off of the upcoming album of the same name due out November 27, 2015 on Alive Naturalsound. The song premiered on Pure Volume a few days ago and from the sounds of this first single, the album will be well worth the wait. Who says rock is dead? You just have to know where to look and that place just happens to be the streets of Memphis, Tennessee. After a two-year layoff the band has elaborated on their signature sound which features smokin' hot guitar riffs, a mighty soulful groove and a hypnotic midnight moan. Dirty Streets: Movements

Dirty Streets will lighten things up here at Heavy Planet with their latest release 'Movements'. The Memphis power-trio not only make an excellent devotional, roots, rock n' roll band, but must be science geniuses. They have certainly devised a strategy to bend the space-time continuum, because Movements is classic rock in its purest form. The tunes don't "sound like" classic 70's rock written in 2012, they are classic rock beamed to us directly from the source. The album is full of memorable hooks and riffs, strong enough to keep any addict coming back. Might I suggest giving 'Fight You' a listen and if this tune doesn't have you wanting more of these Dirty Streets, then the rest of the album is streaming at bandcamp, that should do the job. Look out James Brown, because there is a new hardest working man [men] in show business have arrived.

Pilgrim: Misery Wizard

Pilgrim are a trio of doomsters from Rhode Island that claim to be the 'Disciples of True Doom'. After listening to their tune Quest, I can't disagree. The pieces for the formula are all present. The battle-cry of the bass and drum combine with the distorted riffage, dare I say... gracefully and the vocals sound of an illusion, spewing forth fantastical lyrics such as, "A battle with the keeper, The evil pharaoh's blight, He raises his wand towards me, I raise my sword to fight." Pilgrim's personal bio sums it up extremely well:

"From the hallowed halls of ancient tombs to the shimmering slopes of frozen mountain peaks, an archaic dirge resonates faintly and eternally— the lingering of a sound once so huge that it could be heard across oceans in distant lands. It was said that long ago, three men harvested the power of sonic amplification through arcane wizardry and dark bargainings with powerful demons, and that they used this power to create a band with powerful, heavy music unlike any that had ever been heard before."

New Band To Burn One To - Dirty Streets

Memphis is known for Elvis and Graceland. Let it be known right now that you can add Dirty Streets to that list. Dirty streets are a power trio. Their style is blues based rock and roll. Not to heavy and not to light, they're just right. They have a 70's classic rock sound to them as well.

Dirty Streets are a young band from the Memphis area who have no fear of bathing in their proto-punk and soul roots. Their album Portrait of a Man is an obvious product of digging on the likes of MC5, Rolling Stones, James Brown, Cactus, Humble Pie & the Faces.
