Droids Attack has a new release - a split 12" with Chicago`s Imperial Battlesnake called Thee 1987 Inch and it is being released on Round 13 Records. It`s a limited edition release of 500 on white vinyl, with a hand silkscreened jacket illustrated by rock poster artist Dave Witt. It will be in your hands soon.
In other news, there is a big reunion show going on in Madison that midwest stoner rockers will surely not want to miss. Killdozer is getting back together and putting on a show here in their home town of Madison, WI for the first annual Forward Music Fest happening on Saturday, September 20. If that wasn`t huge enough, they are also being joined by the likes of The Heroin Sheiks and Bongzilla, not to mention us and a few others. Here`s the whole line up:
Dick the Bruiser
Helliphant
Bongzilla
Droids Attack
Heroin Sheiks
Killdozer
Also worthy of a mention is that our bassist, Nate Bush, will be pulling bass duty for Bongzilla at the show.
The website for the event is www.forwardmusicfest.com and apparently (not surprisingly) tickets are almost sold out.

Final Blackfire Revelation Material Now Available
From Blackfire Revelation:
The final Blackfire Revelation recording, Skullmask, has been released. For best results play loudly in a crowded room.
“The Flood,”the first track on the album, is available for free download via the band`s MySpace page.
Coming Soon
Live Like a Snake, Die Like a Bull. This will be a compilation disc of studio out-takes, demos, live tracks, etc. that will be released as soon as the band is through I`m through compiling and it gets mastered. It`s shaping up nicely and definitely showcases the stylistic schizophrenia of the BFR during its short and pitiful lifespan.
I will also be posting all the lyrics and album credits for Skullmask and Live Like a Snake, Die Like a Bull as soon as soon as I get my shit together.
Apparently this will all take place exclusively at www.myspace.com/theblackfirerevelation.

New Baby Woodrose Material Available
Baby Woodrose – Coming Around Again/I Feel High 7”
The new Baby Woodrose 7” contains two exclusive songs only available on this fine piece of plastic. Both songs were recorded with the intention of being included on their recent album, Chasing Rainbows, but it never happened. Not because of the quality of the songs, they just did not seem to fit in. Main man Lorenzo Woodrose has this comment on “Coming Around Again”:
"`Coming Around Again` could have been a hit for anybody, except we ended up playing it a bit too fast and adding lots of over the top twangy surf guitar and beeping Farfisa organ that kind of detracts from its easy listening qualities. The end result is somewhat bubblegum sounding. Some uplifting lyrics about coming back up after having been down for some time. This one turned out much better than I thought it would during mixing. This was actually considered for [the] Chasing Rainbows album quite a lot
“So even though `Coming Around Again` is released 9 months after Chasing Rainbows it is not an indication of how the next album is gonna sound like...it’s just a damn great song.”
The B-side, "I Feel High," was originally meant to be a kick ass rock’n’roll tune but in the process of the mixing it turned out quite differently. Lorenzo Woodrose explains:
"`I Feel High` is really different. If it wasn`t for the lyrical theme (sex, drugs, rock`n`roll) it would have fit well on the Chasing Rainbows album, where I deliberately wanted to go a bit deeper with my subject matter. Acoustic guitar, bass, tambourine and a hauntingly hypnotic Farfisa organ. We actually recorded this as a band, but felt it worked better sounding a bit folky and psychedelic. The intro was later pasted on, consisting of backwards drums and distant fuzz guitar".
First pressing will be a 1000 copies on black vinyl featuring exclusive artwork by Kiryk.

Beneath Oblivion to Release New Material
Ohio doom trio Beneath Oblivion is having a 10” record released in the early fall by the Mylene Sheath (www.mylenesheath.com), a label that exclusively releases vinyl records. The record will feature two new songs, titled “One Year of Deprivation,” and “No Man or Deity.” There will only be 500 copies pressed in three different colors, and it will play at 45 rpm for maximum fidelity.
The two songs on the release were recorded at Litterbox Studios by Andy Perkins (24hourflu, Hilltop Distillery, Mala In Se) and then sent to Watchmen Studios in Buffalo, NY to be mixed and mastered by Doug White (Earth Crisis, Snapcase, Psyopus, Every Time I Die, Tearwave). The artwork for the album which was done by artist Nate Shumaker came out nicely and can be seen at www.northernlightsindustries.com/folio9.html. The songs will later be released digitally via iTunes, Rhapsody, eMusic, etc, as well for those of you wish to listen to the songs in any format other than on a turntable.
For more info on this release go to www.mylenesheath.com or email at info@the mylenesheath.com.
In other news, the band’s 2006 full length CD, Existence Without Purpose, is completely sold out. EWP was a self released CD pressed and packaged by the band themselves; they are very proud of the release and it has gotten great reviews in the underground but the band has no intentions of having the album repressed at this time. Beneath Oblivion would like to move forward and focus on future releases rather than repressing something they have already done. Any labels interested in re-releasing Existence Without Purpose or people who wish to have a CDR copy of the record may contact the band at beneathoblivion@yahoo.com. To hear a couple of the songs from ‘EWP’ as well as the songs from the 2007 split 10” with Sin of Angels released by 43rd Parallel Records go to Beneath Oblivion’s myspace page at www.myspace.com/beneathoblivion.
Beneath Oblivion is currently working on new material for their next full-length album which they have not set any kind of definite timeline on yet. The release will be as heavy, disgusting, and melancholic as any of their other releases with their own blend of crusty doom metal, and more info on their full length will be released when the time gets closer. The tunes being released by the Mylene Sheath are somewhat of a preview for the full-length.
Beneath Oblivion at this time has not made any plans to tour again but will do so as soon as the newer material is closer to being finished. They are doing some shows on occasion around their hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Slave Traitor Wraps Recording New Material
Seattle WA, April 25th, 2008 - Seattle-area metal band Slave Traitor has wrapped recording the follow up to the 2006 release, Black Narcissus. Legendary producer Jack Endino engineered and mixed the six-song EP. Endino`s recent work includes High on Fire`s Death Is This Communion, available on Relapse Records.
The EP, Man Infest Destiny, was tracked and mixed in four days at Seattle`s Soundhouse Studio in mid-April. Slave Traitor will self-release and promote the record while also shopping labels. The EP is set to come out this summer.
Featuring the triple vocals of bassist Marc Burno, guitarist Eric Kempton, and guitarist Jake Willanger, along with drummer Steve Hass, Slave Traitor is ready to provide the US and the rest of the world of the shape of things to come from this band of turn-coats and cut-throats.
Making a name for themselves in Seattle`s music scene, Slave Traitor play an aggressive brand of metal. Having played with High on Fire, Down, Kylesa, and Rwake over the past year, Slave Traitor pulled back from playing live to focus on song writing.
Slave Traitor has been working on new material the past six months. Bass player and one of the vocalists, Marc Burno said, "It was the smoothest recording experience I`ve ever had. Jack`s attitude and methodology fit well with us. We felt comfortable and were able to execute".
Slave Traitor return to performing live on May 31 when they play Seattle`s Funhouse along with Alternative Tentacles edu-core band Bloodhag and Crucial Blast`s Black Elk.
