Floraburn
A super group of sorts, this band from Lexington, KY consists of members from Supafuzz, G-Funk Allstars, Asylum on the Hill, The Oxford Farm Report, and Groovezilla. Their new single "Red Shield" is what caught my ear. It has a very retro Sabbathy-feel but with a sinister southern twist. The band also released a 3-song EP called "Dirt Singles" which elaborates on the southern stoner rock groove. They step outside the box a little with their QOTSA-inspired ditty "Bastards". Keep an ear out for this band. Hopefully we get a full-length some time soon.
